Austin: “At Modern Ice, project management involves planning, organizing, and coordination of all the activities required to design, build, and commission an ice plant. The goal is to ensure the plant is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while also making sure it encompasses all our clients’ requests. There is heavy collaboration between our Business Development Managers, Engineers, and Technical Service team, Freeze Force to make sure the process runs smoothly. We start by verifying with the salesperson what the client’s needs and wants are for their ice business. To listen to and apply our clients’ ideas and requirements. Once we get their wants and needs, it is our goal to make the most simplistic, yet effective design so we can be cost effective and efficient in applying the distribution needs for their business.”

Question: Can you explain the process of design, installation/training, to maintenance?

Austin: “The project management process typically involves several phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control and closure. During the initiation phase, we determine the project objectives and the scope of the project, then a team is assembled. The planning phase involves developing a detailed project plan, including project schedule, budget, and resource requirements. In the execution phase, the ice plant is constructed, and equipment is installed. The monitoring and control phase involves tracking project progress and adjusting as necessary to keep the project on track. Our Freeze Force team assists in all servicing and training in the installation and upkeep of the equipment to ensure it is all running appropriately. Once the plant is up and running and the necessary training has been completed, the closure phase occurs, and the project is complete and ready to hand over to the client.  Overall, effective project management is essential in the design, installation, training, and maintenance of an ice plant to ensure the project is complete on time, within budget, and meets the needs of our clients.”
