How To: Clean Your Vogt Ice Machine: P118 & P18XT
- Pump machine down (refer to pump down procedure below)
- Follow instructions in “Service Manual” or “Cleaning Procedure” sticker on the machine
- Use Nu-Calgon ice machine cleaner or something equivalent
- Use 8 ounces of cleaner per 3 gallons of water
- Cleaner required
- P118/P18XT = 40 ounces (tank cap, approximately 14.5 gallons)
How To: Pump Down Procedure: Mid-Size Vogt Machines
- Close the stop valve, “King Valve,” on the bottom of the receiver
- Lower low pressure “Cut Out” on High/Low pressure safety switch to zero
- Open water tank drain valve partially to allow a continuous flow of warm make-up water into the tank; and still maintain good water level
- Allow the machine to run through one harvest
- “Block Out” the freezer pressure switch stop valve
- Allow machines to run until it shuts off by the low-pressure control
Note: If the machine has a plug-in harvest timer, pull it from the base instead of blocking out the freezer pressure switch
