Matthiesen Drying Belt System
Matthiesen’s Drying Belt Systems can help you put more quality ice in the bag to increase your profits. Drying belts may be ordered in a minimum length of 10 feet and increased in one foot increments; in a minimum width of 2 feet and increased in one foot increments.
- Standard stainless steel shafts
- Standard polyethylene sprockets for less ice build-up with suspended hangers
- Standard wear strips – UHMW runners for less ice build up. Drying belt is broken down easily for confined installation.
How It Works
The Matthiesen Drying Belt System helps remove excess surface water from ice before it reaches the packaging equipment. After ice is produced and transferred onto the drying belt, the moving mesh surface allows water to drain away as the ice travels through the system. Removing excess water before bagging can help put more finished ice into each bag while reducing the amount of meltwater entering the packaging process.
The drying belt uses stainless steel chain-mesh belting to move ice through the system at a consistent speed. Standard belts operate at approximately 36 feet per minute, with other speeds available depending on the application. An optional ice spreader hopper can also help distribute ice across the belt for more consistent drying.
