The Matthiesen Block Press converts all types of ice into a slow melting saleable block. This quiet, easy to use machine is perfect for producing consistently sized blocks of ice and increasing profits.
Ice is loaded into a top hopper then released into the block chamber. The loose ice is water injected then hydraulically pressed into a consistent size, shape and weight block. The block is discharged from the machine to be bagged.

How It Works
The Matthiesen Block Press converts loose ice into consistent, slow-melting blocks that can be packaged and sold as a value-added ice product. The process begins when ice is loaded into the machine’s top hopper, where it is directed into the block chamber for forming. The Block Press can process a variety of ice types, including plate, tube, flake, snow, and cubes.
Once the ice enters the block chamber, water is injected into the loose ice to help bind the product together. A hydraulic pressing system then compresses the ice into a consistent shape, size, and weight. The formed block is discharged from the machine and can then be transferred to a bagging or packaging operation.
